Meet Beatrice, A True Neighbor
This is Beatrice, a Kenyan woman who inspires us.
Beatrice understands God’s call to love our neighbor, and she takes it seriously by constantly volunteering to help. The woman is the epitome of a self-starter servant.
When she was just 12 years old in 5th grade, her church lacked a Sunday School teacher and Beatrice volunteered. She’s been teaching Sunday School ever since.
She volunteered her home to be a supply station for emergency food for hungry people in the community.
She volunteered to host our team for lunch, even serving precious meat in the meal and ladling it onto our plates herself.
On top of caring for her mother-in-law and other family, she is a James Project volunteer, making the rounds and visiting widows and orphans in her region to make sure they have enough food, water, that the children are receiving education and needs are met.
But what they often need is simple: an ear to hear, a shoulder to cry on, and the knowledge that they’re not alone, Beatrice and others in the community haven’t given up on them.
Special thanks to our James Project donors!
To be honest, we didn’t know what our role supporting The James Project would be like, but the time we’ve spent alongside these friends has been an incredible blessing and we’re thrilled to share some good news about the agriculture in this:
Our fruit drying pilot project with these friends is working well, and the team in Kenya will receive two more drying stations soon to help keep people fed and employed in the region.
By donating, YOU are increasing food security in the area and supporting amazing neighbors like Beatrice as they support widows and orphans in their community—thank you!
