A note from Justin Carney, our Executive Director
Dear AgGrandize family,
I’d be lying if I said we didn’t feel fear last year. We worried and wondered and waited as it seemed like so much of this work you’ve made possible began to unravel. In Central Asia, we faced shadowed attacks from corrupt government officials and rival feed companies, and our expansion into East Africa was delayed over and over.
On top of programmatic challenges, my family’s home burned to the ground last spring after a faulty section of fireplace broke and fire spread across the home.
Yes, I’d be lying if I said last year wasn’t a tough one...but God.
But God showed grace and mercy to our team and our partners as we (eventually) met the right advocates in Central Asia who ultimately saved our flagship business there. But God ultimately slowed work in East Africa in a way that turned out to be a blessing. But God used friends like YOU to encourage and hold us up as we chose to take each day, each step, trusting in the work we’ve been called to do on behalf of churches and farmers.
We could look back at 2024 as a bad year. Instead, we see at as the “but God” year, where so much tragedy and injustice was ultimately transformed for His glory. Thank you for sticking with us through years like this, and thank you for being part of this community.
