Farmer First: Meet Coffee Farmer Lewis

On a trip to East Africa, our partners, Long Miles Coffee, connected us with coffee farmers in northern Kenya, and that’s where we met Lewis.

Lewis strode through coffee plants with long legs and a quick step, explaining the basics of coffee farming with obvious excitement.

“We don’t get many visitors, and we work hard—it’s great to share this with you all.”

Lewis waved us forward, pointing out the pulp machine and wash station they had recently acquired thanks to Long Miles.

The C Fund is currently invested in Long Miles’ coffee efforts, but the process has hit several snags. Burundi in particular made it difficult for the coffee company to export their beans. This has been sorted out and beans are shipped, so now we expect payment to our investors and the coffee farmers very soon.

Thanks to all of you who donated to our coffee farmer support effort at the end of 2023, we are so thankful! Your investment and giving have a direct impact on farmers like Lewis.
