Farmer First: Meet Zarina

Happy Farmer First!

On the first day of this month, we take a moment to celebrate Zarina, a Kyrgyz woman who graciously hosted our Joseph Summit attendees last month in the small town where she works.

The feed processing, storage, and distribution center Zarina helps manage is located outside of the Kyrgyz capital city.

On top of helping run this feed and seed center, Zarina is involved with the genetics development now happening on the real estate many of you AgG investors helped fund a couple of years ago.

Zarina spoke excitedly about the new seed varieties being developed.

Laughing, she recalled when they started: “At first, they asked me to help test a few varieties, maybe 5-6, and I thought that was so many. Now they’re talking about doing 40 varieties and I think that is a lot!”

The work has clearly honed Zarina’s management and ag business skills, not to mention her ability to work as part of a team. Whe was an excellent host to each busload of Joseph Summit attendees that rolled through, and we are so glad to celebrate the work she’s doing in Kyrgyzstan.

Thanks to Zarina, her team, and all of the businesses and nonprofits who hosted us last month—it was incredible! More site visit stories to come.
