In Photos: Our Biggest Joseph Summit Yet!
The 9th annual Joseph Summit in Central Asia is over, and we need to hand out a few flowers.
Thanks to our partners, Dutch Nature and Oasis Agro, for hosting and managing so much of this event. Thanks to the former Joseph Summit attendees who’ve donated and sponsored this year’s event. It takes a lot of paid/volunteer hours and money for these events to take place, and it wouldn’t be possible without your generosity.
Thanks to the attendees who showed up hungry, flexible, and curious.
The questions and insights offered were sharp, people were there to learn and it showed.

The ambiance of the venue was also a gift, just ask anyone in agriculture where they want to be for a retreat and many will point to places like this. With last year’s Summit in Kazakhstan, it was sweet to return to Kyrgyzstan—and to one of the most beautiful venues we’ve ever seen! Nestled in the mountains just a short drive from Bishkek, the resort was a truly lovely place to gather together.
After the first evening’s initial welcome, sharing dinner together, and finding our rooms (yurts!), we started a full day of presentations and discussion, followed by a full day of site visits/excursions to various parts of the region, then followed by a final day of debrief and considering next steps.
It’s always exciting to see what God might do through this network, and we’ve already heard stirrings and stories from many of you as you consider what obedience and Kingdom responses might look like. Some of the feedback from attendees has us especially excited, as people shared things like…
“It was rewarding to hear people catch the vision for this work!”
“It encouraged me to connect with other attendees and hear their passion.”
“I enjoyed seeing leaders awaken to a much more expansive picture of how the Kingdom can be lived out.”
Many offered helpful constructive criticism as well, something we value greatly as we work to make this a stronger event for all involved. You all make us better!

So thank you, thank you for making such a rich time together possible. Thanks to everyone who proved flexible and relaxed as we faced scheduling changes and last-minute devotional reassignments.

The event hosted arriving from 15+ countries, even more ethnic backgrounds and spoken languages, but one shared Kingdom vision: to see God work through agriculture, and we are seeing it!
