Farmer First: Meshach & The James Project
Meshach is a Kenyan farmer and family man, a former orphan now fueled by faith to serve orphans and widows in his community through agricultural business.
When we heard about this rural Kenyan community working for sustainability for orphans through agriculture, you know we had to learn more. Our Board Chaplain, David Goodyear, has spent a lot of time in East Africa supporting The James Project, and it’s been a joy to go deeper with Meshach and Elizabeth, the founders.
Meshach’s love for farming and compassion for the orphans in his community is a beautiful thing, and we’ve it’s been our joy to send them coaching expertise and resources as they work to serve their neighbors in a sustainable, self-sufficient way. The region has a long history of dependency on outside aid, but locals like Meshach are choosing a different way of serving, refusing to become dependent on aid and working for better, more local sources of food security and support.
Thanks to all of you who’ve prayed for and helped support this community over the years—particularly you amazing donors in Oklahoma—it’s an honor to partner with you in supporting The James Project!
